When working on an application, why are some sections not available to me (or locked or gray)?

You can unlock some sections (such as application questions) as soon as you finish any required profile sections, even before you completely finish your StandOut Admissions Network profile. See the article about unlocking questions for more information.

When you are working on a college application, some sections of an application may depend on your answers to previous questions/sections. In the example below, the buttons for Official Documents and Uploads are unavailable.


In general, this is because you must first complete previous sections (such as Terms or Program selection) before you can access the remainder of the application.

Once you complete the required sections, you can access the rest of the application.
